A Speech Pathology Service for Voice Therapy and Voice Training

Southern Sydney Voice Therapy is a unique Speech Pathology practice located in the Sutherland Shire that offers voice assessment and voice therapy for adults and children (aged 5 and over) who have a voice disorder or other concerns such as chronic cough or breathing difficulty. ​We also provide voice modification training for individuals whose voice does not match their gender identity. All services at the clinic are delivered by a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.

Common voice issues that we help people overcome include:

• Hoarse, breathy or strained voice  
• Pitch is too high or too low, unstable or monotonous
• Soft/whispered voice  
• Reduced range of pitch or volume
• Voice cracks, stops or tremors
• Vocal fatigue or discomfort with prolonged voice use
• Voicing feels effortful
• Difficulty projecting voice or being heard over background noise
• Running out of breath at the end of sentences
• Physical sensations in the throat or neck region such as irritation, pain, muscle tension or the feeling of a lump in the throat
• Frequent coughing or throat clearing
• Inability to meet vocal demands in occupational or social/recreational contexts
• Voice that doesn’t match gender/self identity

Any of the above issues can negatively effect communication and can have a profound impact upon a person's occupational, social and psychological well-being. We are committed to helping people over come these challenges. Our services are based on research evidence and tailored to meet the needs and goals of our individual clients. ​

​Public transport: Very close to Kogarah railway station. 
Parking: There is a parking station on Derby street near the corner of Post Office Lane. This is a paid parking station ($4). There is also free parking available around the streets near by but these can be more difficult to find.
