You don't require a referral to book an initial appointment with Southern Sydney Voice Therapy. However, if you have a referral please send us a copy or bring it along to your first appointment. Clients with voice difficulties / changes: We strongly recommend you visit an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon specialising in laryngeal disorders (Laryngologist) for imaging of your larynx (voice box), preferably with stroboscopy (allows visualisation of the vocal fold wave). You may book an initial appointment with us prior to visiting an ENT; however, it is likely that we will recommend an appointment with an ENT for diagnosis. Please ask your ENT to send us the report or bring it along to your appointment with us. Clients with diagnosed Chronic Cough (resistant to medical treatment) OR Paradoxical Vocal Cord Motion (PVFM) / Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD):We appreciate receiving reports from ENTS and/or respiratory specialists concerning laryngeal imaging, respiratory or other related tests.
Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referrals
Ask your GP about referring yourself or your child to Southern Sydney Voice Therapy under the Chronic Disease Management program (CDM). This referral will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 5 treatment sessions per calendar year. For further information click here.
